conway helps out with fishing
Comments:
The class could only catch immature fish, undersize and not old enough to bioaccumulate much POPs.
We asked an experienced champion angler to help us catch fish.

Because our fish were not that big we filleted the whole side to prepare fillet samples. This is the teacher demonstrating, students have to wear special cutting gloves.

Weighing the first fillet
Comments:
103 grams, this is the biggest oldest fish and so this fillet is most likely to contain higher POP levels.
Bream are peak order predatory fish at the top of the food chain and as resident fish will be excellent to tell us about river health in terms of POP presence.
